Oneiro
A downloadable game
Lucid Dream the 4 Layers of your Labyrinth; Each one gets progressively more difficult and is meant to test your knowledge of the games mechanics. Collect/duplicate items, find powerful weapons, and use gear to conquer your Labyrinth.
-- Explore Your Labyrinth --
A round of Oneiro takes place within the player's mental Labyrinth; and within the Labyrinth, there's several Layers. Each Layer is procedurally generated with enemies, treasures, pots, living walls, weapons, and more.
- Destructible environments; Break walls to discover hidden chests, or to cave in the ceiling onto an enemy. Break the ceilings for quick entry into the labyrinth from above.
- Keep an eye out for strange markings on the floor; land will sometimes be pitfalls and collapse below the player resulting in certain death.
- Wield a variety of weapons: Fists, Swords, Karambits, Hammers, and Spears. Which fits your playstyle the most?
- Weapons come in 2 sub-variants, 1-handed weapons and 2-handed weapons. This is an important difference which may not seem significant at first, but the one-handed weapons allow you to use consumable gear like Life Potions while attacking.
- Discover and duplicate items to gain new abilities, and improve existing ones.
- Items are stackable; if you have the Magical Lamp which grants you one midair jump, use Duplicators to make copies of the item and gain 10 midair jumps.
- Gear is one-time-use equipment, normally acquired through breaking pots and defeating certain enemies. granting powerful stat increases, or imbuements to the player. They can however have unique effects such as the Contained Energy, which teleports the player upon drinking it.
- Gear is often a game changer; use the grapple hook to travel a great distance in a short time; use the duplicator to create copies of items; use multiple Power Capsules to significantly boost your attack for a short time.
Oneiro aims to reward knowledge, creativity, and skill equally; the more you play, the more patterns you'll realize and the more you'll benefit, ergo the further you'll advance in the Labyrinth.
Your creativity will be allowed to shine multiple times due to the wide array of options you'll have any given moment. Perhaps instead of facing an enemy, you'll use Throwing Knives to destroy a nearby wall, and cause the Labyrinth's ceiling to collapse on the enemy. Or maybe you'll use your Sledgehammer to hit a nearby torch off the wall and fling it towards the enemy in an attempt to ignite them from a safe distance.
-- Rogue Genre Aspects --
Due to the oversaturation and confusion behind the rogue genre...
Oneiro is a game that features permadeath, procedural generation, and no meta-progression (ie. permanent upgrades). All the upgrades you find are limited to that run, and that run only.
There is a certain difficulty to this, as the only thing that separates new players and experienced is their knowledge and creativity regarding Oneiro's mechanics.
-- Version 1.2 Features --
- 50+ equipment/gear to discover and stack
- 20 different weapons
- 4 Layers of the Labyrinth to conquer
- 15 Music tracks that you can listen to here on Bandcamp

Ey glad to see you haven't died workin on your game, looking forward to the next update
Ahhah yeah no, I've spent too long on this game, just to stop working on it. It's getting finished if it's the last thing I do. Happy to see you're still following the development.
the see through labyrinth and destroy things feature is quite cool, interesting ideas!
I'm happy to hear people enjoy the transparency, I was a little worried about that.
Thanks for playing!
This is a pretty good concept, it would be really cool if it could get somewhere!
I'm working hard at it! Thanks for playing!
Thanks a lot for the video! I'm glad you caught that bug with the boss on camera. It should be fixed in version 0.7.3.
The recent updates are pretty good with the buffs to the slimes making them more challenging early on, the nerf to vulture brain seems like it didn't do a lot since in my couple playthroughs I got like over 5 of them and did a lot of healing. There seems to be a bug in the phase after the eyes the boss just floats around not doing any of the attacks I saw in previous build of your game. It may of been me doing too much damage but I didnt try to do a lot of damage in a second boss run and had the same result. Other than that the games looking pretty good and I'm looking forward to seeing whats next. P.S. you should make it so the player can reach Jacob's npc

Oh hey, thanks for giving the game a try, man!
There is definitely a nerf to the vulture brain, but obviously that nerf can be nullified when you acquire enough. Hopefully the broken fang feels a little more effective if you found that.
I've never heard of that bug with the boss, that's really weird. A lot of people are finding issues with the boss recently that I've never encountered which is rather concerning.
Glad to hear the game is looking good, much appreciated!
Made some videos playing this, I had a lot of fun
Really awesome to see a video on this game, thanks a lot!
